Another night drag racing cars that are faster than my beater C5Z. Since NJ had terrible weather all summer, the turnout was pretty big. S8s and RS3s, newer AMGs, BMWs, rat rods, drag bikes... a cornucopia of quick machines.
Ended up running a new PB 12.44 @ 113.5. Here’s the video if you’re interested...
It was a close race against a bolt-on/tune 335xi. Separated by only .055 seconds. I also raced the Trackhawk pictured below. It bewilders the mind seeing something weigh 5500 lbs go that fast.

when I was in High School (‘87-’88), a friend and I would drive up to Atco from Farifax, VA, after school on Friday to run his Mustang (LX 5.0 with 2.83 rear end - not the higher performance rear). His best run was a 13.9, which at the time was better than magazines would get testing Mustang GTs.
It’s good to see they still do the run-what-you-brung.

Yeah, I really dig the grassroots vibe of drag racing at Atco. Glad you have some good memories as well. My friend has a Fox that he runs with a 150 shot of nitrous , it’s proper fun!
